Backyard birding on a cold day

It had been so cold today.  In the teen’s.  It has seemed like 100’s of birds have visited our bird feeders today.

To cold to go outside, so it was an out the window birding kinda day.

Two different woodpeckers showed up in the backyard.  The first one was a red bellied woodpecker.  I believe a female.

Then, out of the blue, a Northern Flicker showed up.  I had never seen one before.  Pretty large guy too!

Of course the “Mr. and Mrs. of the backyard”, the Cardinals.  They are always hanging around.

A few house finches too.

We have also seen a Merlin, Red tailed hawk and Downy woodpeckers hanging around.  They are fast movers and haven’t got pictures of them yet.
